Bluesky announced that users can now sign up on the social media platform without needing an invite code.
Bluesky, which debuted as a competitor to Twitter, formerly known as X, announced that as of February 7, 2024, every user can register to the platform without requiring an invite code.
Founded by Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey, Bluesky now allows anyone to create an account on the platform.
Until last Tuesday, users who wanted to register on the Bluesky platform were required to have an invitation code.
However, Bluesky announced that users can now sign up on the social media platform without needing an invite code.
How to sign up for a Bluesky?
Download the Bluesky app from the App Store or Google Play or go to the website using a browser to use it. Then follow the steps to create your account.
1. Go to bsky.app or download the Bluesky Social mobile app.
If you have an Android, you can download Bluesky from the Google Play Store. On an iPhone or iPad, get Bluesky from the App Store.
If you want to sign up for Bluesky, You’ll need create your account.
2. Select “Create new account”.
3. Select “Bluesky” and choose “Next“.
You can join Bluesky through a different provider in the future, but for now, select “Bluesky.”
4. Enter your Bluesky invite code. (no code required now)
Once you enter your code, additional form fields will appear.
5. Fill out the form and click “Next”.
You’ll need to provide Bluesky with a valid email address, the password you’d like to use for Bluesky, and your birthdate to sign up.
6. Choose your user handle to join Bluesky and click “Next”
Once your code is accepted, you can choose your Bluesky username and start interacting on the decentralized social network. Click “Next.”
